Himalayan Sketching and Painting Tour
The idea is this :
To take you to a few gorgeous spots in Uttarakhand, foothills of the Himalayas to walk, photograph, paint & sketch under the skillful and informative guidance of an experienced professional artist. We will stay in simple, attractive home-stays, or air conditioned hotels, eat fresh, tasty local produce prepared by the company ( not to mention enjoying a glass of wine in the sunset) and travel in comfortable vehicles to our painting sites.
The subject matter for the tour will include portraiture, lifestyle and scenery, both macro & micro, colour usage, brush & textural techniques and an appreciation of local light conditions....... we will see new areas of north India, enjoy the camaraderie of fellow artists on an adventure!. In New Delhi we'll visit museums and galleries plus fit in some great shopping.
We will also meet local artisans and perhaps try our hand at their craft.... possibilities include mud relief sculpting, traditional lime tile painting, kanta stitch, phulkari & zhadosi embroidery, aipan floor painting, Rangoli design work with rice flour & vegetable colours, weaving.
9 places available, 10 days all inclusive (twin-share accommodation, tuition, meals, lots of information about the local environment and transport) exclusive of airfares to & from New Delhi.........
